Tyler J. Dougherty, 23, of Barnesville, unexpectedly passed away on Saturday, May 15th, 2021 at his home.
Tyler was born in Pottsville, on March 29, 1998, a son of James Dougherty, of Mahanoy City and the late Helene Grutza.
He attended the Mahanoy Area High School, where he played football and then worked as a laborer in the local construction and remodeling industry. He was a computer enthusiast, and enjoyed online gaming.
In addition to his mother, Helene Grutza, he was preceded in death by a grandfather, Frank Pleban; a grandfather, Gary Grutza; a grandfather, James George Dougherty; great grandmother Gloria McMullen; a great grandfather, John Jack Grutza; and great grandparents John and Rose Leso.
He is survived by his father, James Alexander Dougherty and his wife, Krista of Mahanoy City and by his siblings: a brother, Miles Grutza, of Barnesville; a sister, Kaylie Dougherty, of Mahanoy CIty; a sister, Jennifer Dougherty, of Bethlehem; a sister, Amanda Dougherty, of Bethlehem; and a sister, Harlee Dougherty, of Mahanoy City and a step brother, Dylan Clark of Pottsville.
An aunt, Shannon Lee Grutza, of Barnesville; a niece, Zeliah Grutza, of Mahanoy City; a cousin Shayla Barkus, of Barnesville; his grandmother, Wanda Grutza, of Barnesville; and grandparents John and Cathleen Leso of Mahanoy City also survive, as do many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 4 PM to 6 PM on Thursday, May 20th , 2021 at the Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home, 412 West Main Street, Ringtown.
Everyone attending is asked to be respectful of Tyler's family and wear a mask while inside the funeral home.
