Matthew D. Dillman, 43, A resident of Ringtown, passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2023, at home, surrounded by his family and many close friends.

Matt was born in Pottsville on July 5, 1979, the son of Anna (Letunic) Dillman of Frackville, and the late David Dillman.

He was a 1998 graduate of the North Schuylkill high school. He was a member of the United States Army, Pennsylvania National Guard, and graduated from Alvernia University with a BA in elementary education. He also received his Municipal Police Officer Training and Associate degree in Criminal Justice from Lackawanna College.

Matt was formerly employed as a police officer, working for the Mt. Carmel Police Department, being actively involved in community outreach he was instrumental in launching their community watch program. He was also a member of the Emergency Response Team. Matt was also employed by the Ashland Borough Police, the Hegins Township Police, and the Butler Township Police. During his tenure as a police officer, Matt received specialized training and was involved with the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force. He was currently working for the Schuylkill County Sheriff's Department, as a deputy sheriff.

Matt was a member and President of the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge No. 25. He was also a member of the Lodge No. 737, F&AM, and the Forest No. 50, Tall Cedars of Lebanon.  Matt enjoyed his home, spending time with his dogs and in his leisure time, fishing.

Matt is survived by his wife of 14 years, Brandy (Lawson) Dillman, their daughter, Kennedy, and their dogs Daisy and Lucky.

He is also survived by his sister, Paula Dillman-McGowan, with Neal, and her sons, Connor and Liam McGowan. Matt also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, and a close family friend, Davina Corrigan, along with an extended group of law enforcement professionals, all of whom were like family to Matt.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service which will be held on Saturday, January 14th at 7 PM at St. Mary's Church, North Center Street in Ringtown. Visitation will be held from 4:30 until time of the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are asked to be made to Matt's daughters college education fund c/o Union National Bank, Mt. Carmel, PA, or by donating directly to his family.
