Lorraine G. Engle

Lorraine G Engle, 80 of Ringtown passed away at home peacefully Saturday  January 8th 2022. 

Born June 30th 1941 in Shenandoah. She was a daughter of the late Guy and Catherine Whitner. 

Lorraine  was an Honor Group graduate of the former Ringtown High School.

Lorraine worked for the former Jimmy Long grocery store up until it's closing. She also volunteered countless hours of her time at Saint John's Lutheran Church, Ringtown Library and Ringtown Senior Center. 

The simplest pleasures brought Lorraine great joy she loved gardening, short road trips and walking the beaches of Ocean City, Maryland. She also had an unconditional love and adored her grand-dog Aubree.

In addition to her parents Lorraine was preceded in death by her sister, Janet Hinderliter.

Lorraine is survived by her high school sweetheart and devoted husband of 61 years John Engle of Ringtown. She leaves behind 2 sons David of Lehigh Valley and Eric of Ringtown.  She is survived by brothers Donald Whitner and wife Joanne of Ringtown,  Dale Whitner and wife Rose of Fern Glen, Brother-in-law's Ronald Engle and wife Lillian, Robert Engle and wife Theresa, all of Ringtown, along with with  nieces and nephews.  

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, January 12th, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ringtown.  Relatives and friends are invited to a attend a viewing from 9 AM until the time of the service at the church.  All recommended guidelines and protocols for masks and social distancing are asked to be followed.

Lorraine will be laid to rest at St. John’s Memorial Park, immediately following the service.
