Linda Lucas, 64, of Zion Grove, passed away Friday, April 2nd, 2021.
Linda was born in Ashland, on May 26, 1956, a daughter of the late Norma (Hinderliter) and Nevin Moyer. She attended the former Rock Glen school and was a graduate of the West Hazleton High School.
Linda devoted her life to social work, having worked with the elderly as an activites director at the former Heights Nursing Home, and lastly working with Luzerne County as a social worker. She was a lifetime member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Zion Grove.
A honorable woman who embodied childlike innocence, she loved the outdoors, horseback riding, biking and swimming, and was a certififed Red Cross lifeguard instructor.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Matthew Lucas.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, A. Michael Lucas of Zion Grove, and by their children, a son, Stephen, and his wife Melissa, of Drums and a daughter Denise, wife of Mike Blanchek, of Mainville. A sister Joan Mensinger and a brother Randy Moyer, both of Zion Grove also survive.
Linda is survived by her six grandchildren, Lorelei, Nolan, Nevin, Mikey, Grace and Faith, all of whom she cherished and loved dearly.
Relatives and friends are invited to a walk-through visitation on Thursday evening, April 8th from 6-8 PM at the Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home, 412 West Main Street, Ringtown. A Funeral Service will then be held at 11 AM on Friday, April 9th at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Zion Grove. Linda will be laid to rest in the Mt. Zion Cemetery following the service
