John J. Boxer, 66, of Shenandoah, passed away at home on Sunday, May 9th, 2021.
John was born in Shenandoah, on April 3, 1955, a son of the late Anna Marie (Sposito) and Joseph Boxer.
He was a graduate of the former JW Cooper High School in Shenandoah, where he excelled in wrestling. He attended the former Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Shenandoah.
John was retired having last worked as a code enforcement officer for the Borough of Shenandoah and Gilberton Borough. Early in his career he was an equipment operator in the construction industry.
John enjoyed spending time in his garage, detailing and painting both automobiles and motorcycles. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a former PIAA swimming official. On dry land he was a well known pool shark.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Sandra (Adams) Boxer, and by his children: a daughter Jennifer, of Florida; a son Eric Boxer, and his wife Holly, of New Ringgold; and a son Jordan Boxer, and his wife Krystal, of Schuylkill Haven. Two sisters survive, Joann Jacavage, fiancee of Jo Jo Mariano, of Shenandoah; and Maria Boxer, and her partner Tom, of St. Clair.
He is also survived by 7 grandchildren whom he adored and loved spending time with, Dominik, Sara, Grayson, Robyn, Lucas, Max and Natalie, as well as nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, and also by his beloved Maltese, Sherry.
In accordance with John's wishes, private services will be held for his family.
