Jean E. Wolfe, RN, 102, of Zion Grove, passed away Sunday, May 1st, 2022.
Jean was born in Nuremberg, on December 2, 1919, a daughter of the late Elizabeth (Foose) and Howard Ulshafer.
She was a graduate of the former Nuremberg High School, and attended nursing school in Philadelphia. Jean worked as a nurse at the former St. Joseph's Hospital in Hazeton as well as doing private duty nursing.
Jean was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church in Nuremberg, where she was very involved and active. She was also a member of the Nuremberg Ambulance association, and a volunteer with the local food pantry. She was Grand Marshal of the 18th Annual Nuremberg Celebration.
She enjoyed her three cats, needle point, watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune and was a fan of the Phillies.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen C. Wolfe in 1984, and by ten siblings.
Jean is survived by her two daughters, Robyn, wife of Richard Trexler, of Ringtown; and Nancy Lehman, fiancee of Lane Irvin, of Zion Grove and by her sister, Arbutus Hargis of Allentown.
She is also survived by 4 grandsons, Scott and Adam Trexler and Cody and Jacob Lehman, and two step granddaughters, Dezarae and Hailee Hero. One great grandson, Aaron and one great-great grandson, Elijah survives as does her former son in law, Dale Lehman, along with nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Service at Bethany United Methodist Church, 217 Mahanoy Street in Nuremberg at 11 AM on Saturday, May 14th. There will be no visitation prior to the service.
Jean will be laid to rest alongside her husband at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Zion Grove, following the service.
