Earl J. Zimmerman, Sr., 76, of Ringtown, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 4th, 2020 at his home.
Earl was born in Ringtown, on June 20, 1944, a son of the late Irene (Gottstein) and Wallace Zimmerman.
He was a 1962 graduate of the Mahanoy Area High School. Earl was retired, having worked as a day shift supervisor at former hanger factory in Ringtown for 43 years. He loved being outdoors, from doing gardening to hunting and fishing. He enjoyed riding his ATV and motorcycle and was an all around handyman who loved working around his home. He was also always willing to learn something new and help anyone in need.
He was a member of Aurand Memorial United Methodist Church, and for many years he had taken care of the lawn at the United Methodist Cemetery in Ringtown.
Earl will be remembered by many for his good sense of humor.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sharon (Hart) Zimmerman; and their children, Lori, wife of Randy Dresher, of Ashland; Andrea, wife of Daniel Feeney , of Pine Grove; and Earl Zimmerman, Jr. and his wife Lisa, of Moscow.
A sister Phyllis Clark, of Phinneyville survives, as do his five grandchildren, who he loved and enjoyed very much, Kylee, Cora, Lilah, Noah and Alex.
Memorial donations in memory of Earl are asked to be made to the American Cancer Society.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date which will be announced, when all Earl's friends and family are able to participate together.
