Charles "Charlie" Everett

Charles "Charlie' Everett, 97, of Zion Grove, passed away Sunday, October 14th, 2018.

Charlie was born in Zion Grove, on March 13, 1921, a son of the late Elizabeth (Herran) and James A. Everett.

He was a graduate of the former Nuremberg High School.  After working several years in the construction trades, he devoted himself to full time operations of the family farm in the late 60's until his retirement in early 2000.

Charlie was a lifetime member of the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church where he was a former superintendent of the Sunday School and also a past member and treasurer of the Church Council.

He was a hunter and also enjoyed going to auctions and woodcrafting, as well as yearly family reunions at the family farm.

The last member of his immediate family he was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters, James, Edward, Ruth, Dorothy, Fietta, June, Bette, Mae and Clare.

Charlie is survived by his wife of 71 years,  Naomi (Laudig) Everett, and their four children, Lana, wife of  Gerald Worley;  Glenn, and his wife Karen;  Steven, and his partner Susan and Chris, and his wife Karen.

He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, Renee, Sheri, Lisa, Marsha, Michael, Garret, Katie, Michael and Julie.   19 great grandchildren.  Nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, October 19th at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Zion Grove.

A viewing will be held from  6 PM to 8 PM on Thursday, October 18th at Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home, 412 West Main Street, Ringtown, and again on Friday from 10 AM to 11 AM  at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church prior to the service.

Charlie will be laid to rest immediately following the service in the Mt. Zion Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, 37 Faux Hill Road Zion Grove, PA 17985.
