Carol McDemus Obituary

Carol Ann McDemus, 75, of Ringtown, joined God's choir, with her beautiful voice on Friday, November 18, 2022. Greeting Carol at heaven's gate were her loved ones who went home before her, daughter, Amy Joy, her mother Grace Stanley, her sister Colleen Darrow, and her in-laws, Henry and Millie McDemus.

Carol was born August 31, 1947, the oldest of seven children. Carol entered the world with a head full of copper curls, like a shiny new penny, from that day forward her family and friends in northwest Indiana, where she was raised knew her as Penny.

Carol met the love of her life, Joseph McDemus in Michigan where he was stationed with the US Air Force and she was attending school. Carol and Joe married on February 5, 1966 and their love story lasted nearly 57 years.

Left to cherish Carol's memory are her loving husband, Joe McDemus of Ringtown, their sons, Michael (Judy) McDemus of Ringtown, Rick (Jennifer) McDemus, Pottsville and grandchildren, Brandon, Caitlyn, Justin and Samantha McDemus. She is also survived by her siblings, Harry (Joan) Buell, Ellise (Fred) Coates, Melody (Don) Wilson, Kim (Mike) Miller, and Dawn (Mike) Ebersole, all of Indiana.

Carol loved her family deeply and nothing made her happier than jumping on the motorcycle with Joe and making a trip to visit those she held dear, whether it was a quick day trip or a week back in Indiana. Anywhere with Joe was home and together they made a lifetime of beautiful memories traveling America's roadways.

Visitation with Carol's family will be held on Thursday evening, May 25th 2023 from 6-8 PM at the Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home, 412 West Main Street, Ringtown. Casual attire is requested.  A Celebration of life service followed by committal will be held on Friday, May 26 th, at 11 AM at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville. Friends with motorcycles are welcome to ride along.
