Wardell Mensinger Jr., 79, of 101 Phinneyville Heights, passed away Monday at his residence.
Born in Ringtown, Nov. 13, 1935, he was a son of the late Wardell Sr. and Jane Manbeck Mensinger.
He worked for General Motors in Linden, N.J., then later went to work in the security department for Merck and Co., Rahway, N.J.
An avid hunter, he was a member of Park Crest Game Club, along with East Union Township Senior Citizens and Frackville Lodge 737 F&AM.
He was preceded by his wife, Joan Bley Mensinger, on May 25; two sisters, Gladys Grohol and Joyce Scargill.
Wardell is survived by a daughter, Linda, wife of Raymond Nunez, Rhode Island; a son, Paul Mensinger and his wife, Chris, Hagerman, Idaho; a brother, Wayne Mensinger and his wife, JoAnn, Greenlane; grandchildren, David, Cara, Rebecca, Maria, Justin and Staci; and a great-granddaughter, Ryah.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Brandonville, with the Rev. Jay Serafin officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home, 412 W. Main St., Ringtown, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church prior to the service.
