Verna A. Parker, 98, a resident of Ringtown, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 27th, 2026.
Verna was born in Ringtown on January 23, 1928, a daughter of the late William and Effie (Fuhrman) Rupert. She was a graduate of the former Ringtown High School and then moved to the Philadelphia area where she worked as a professional Nanny, and as a medical receptionist. Upon her return to the Ringtown valley, she continued her love of caring for children, babysitting for many years.
She was a member of the Aurand Memorial United Methodist Church in Ringtown, the Ringtown Area Senior citizens, and enjoyed playing scrabble and cards with her friends. Verna was an excellent baker and also enjoyed crocheting and sewing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Warren R. Parker in 1978.
She was also preceded in death by her siblings Mae Tobin, Mary Polatz, Rae Gromalski, Jean Kline, Esther Lindenmuth, Evelyn Helock Mable Harris, Earl Rupert, Roy Rupert and Warren Rupert.
She is survived by her sons , Bruce Parker (Anne Marie) of Lafayette Hill, PA; and Reynold Parker (Helga) of Weston, PA. Three granddaughters, Colleen Parker and Danielle Hallahan (Michael) Stephanie Parker (Mathew); a grandson, Reynold Parker (Joanne); and a great granddaughter, Lexi Hallahan. A brother Paul Rupert (Ruth) also survives, along with many nieces and nephews.
Verna will be laid to rest alongside her husband Warren in St. John's Cemetery in Ringtown during private family services.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Aurand Memorial United Methodist Church on West Main Street in Ringtown at a date and time to be announced by the Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home, Ringtown.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Verna's name to the Ringtown Area Library.
