Thomas Bernard Mathews, 86, a resident of Lake Wynonah, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, August 14th, 2024.

Thomas was born in Wyomissing, PA on May 22, 1938, a son of the late John and Margaret (Nagle) Mathews.

He is survived by his wife, best friend and soul mate of fifty years, the former Florence Ann Schiefer. Left to cherish his memory is son Thomas B. Mathews, Jr and daughter-in-law Freda Morehart Mathews. A daughter Michelle Mathews Lis and son-in-law Richard Lis. Granddaughter Jasmine Mathews, grandsons William and Aaron Morehart, grandson Paul Lis and wife Tracey, granddaughter Carleen Lis Wiedman and husband Jason. Great-grandchildren Emere Woods, Joshua and Matthew Lis. And a very special niece Sylvia Hovanec.

In lieu flowers, cards, etc., Thomas's last wish was that perhaps family and friends would consider a small donation to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

As per Thomas's wishes, there will be no services, with a private interment at the family gravesite. Services have been provided by the Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home, Ringtown.
