Obituary

Stanley Sypeck, retired Pennsylvania State Police, 82, of Ringtown, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on May 19, 2024.

Stanley was born in West Hazleton on August 26, 1941, son of the late Stanley P. and Blanche C. (Levash) Sypeck.

He attended Transfiguration and West Hazleton High Schools, and served in the US Navy, attaining the rank of Petty Officer 3rd Class.  After his honorable discharge, he attended the Pennsylvania State Police Academy in 1963.  He graduated earning the title of High Pistol Shooter in his class.  He served in the following barracks, Bowmansville, Jonestown, Mahanoy City, Lehighton and Hazleton, retiring in February of 1991.

In retirement, he loved working on the mountain where he lived, as well as hunting.

He is survived by his wife, Jean (Robacher) Sypeck, along with his children, Christine Ann, wife of Lawrence DelliSanti; Stanley (Buster) Sypeck; Scott Allan Sypeck and his wife Melissa; Tracey Ann, wife of Anthony Clements and also by Debra, wife of Kevin Thompson.  He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing on Thursday, May 23rd, from 6-8 PM at the Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home, 412 West Main Street, Ringtown, and again on Friday morning from 9:30 AM until 10:15 AM.  A procession will leave the funeral home to go to Our Lady of Mercy Church, Slabtown Road, Catawissa, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM.

Stanley will be laid to rest during private family services at a later date.  Stanley's family will provide flowers and memorial donations are asked to be made to the Mercy Ships organization, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, the Wounded Warrior Project or Our Lady of Mercy Church.
