Obituary
Shirley A. Dillman, 77, of Zion Grove, passed away Thursday while a guest at St. Luke's Pavillion in Hazleton.
Born in Friedensburg, Feb. 11, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Gertrude Jamison Knoll-Behney and Charles Knoll.
She was retired, having worked in the local garment industry and was a member of the IILGWU.
A member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Ringtown, Shirley was also an outdoor lover. She enjoyed working in her garden, as well as hunting and fishing.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Dillman, in 2003; and brothers, Thomas, Robert, Chester and Franklin.
She is survived by her children, Denise, wife of Alvin Schlauch, Zion Grove, and Barry and his wife, Kathleen Dillman, Ringtown; three sisters, Helen, Pine Grove, and Doris Faust and Linda Behney, and a brother, Louis Behney, all of Schuylkill Haven; a granddaughter, Jaime Sanza, Allentown, and a step-grandson, Shaun and his wife, Cherie Duffy, and their son, Kyle Duffy.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, East Main Street, Ringtown. Visitation with Shirley's family will take place from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home, Ringtown, is assisting Shirley's family during their time of need.
