Ruth Ann Ziolko, a resident of Brandonville, passed away peacefully at home on February 11th, 2024.

Ruth was born on August 5th, 1937 in Shenandoah, a daughter of the late John and Florence (Kline) Sands.

Ruth Ann was retired having last worked as a manager for Alliance Wholesale.  She has also been previously employed in the local garment industry.  An excellent baker and cook, she loved to listen to country music, and was fond of her many road trips, especially to Branson, Missouri.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband to whom she was married to for 61 years, Joseph Ziolko who passed away in 2023, and by a sister, Florence Krieger, who passed away in 1985.

Ruth Ann loved  her family and was proud of and cherished her grand children and great grandchildren.

Ruth Ann is survived by her two daughters, Lorrie, wife of Brian Deffley and Kimberly Jo, wife of Mario Curreli.   Four grandchildren, Erin, wife of Michael Plaksa, Kirstyn Kankowski, Connor Deffley and his wife Caitlin and Joseph Kankowski, along with three great grandchildren, Anthony Plaska, Alexander Plaksa and Cael Deffley, a niece, Judi Kline and also her cat, Lucky.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service which will be held on Thursday, February 20th, 2025 at 11 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church in Brandonville.  Visitation with Ruth Ann's family will be from 10-11 AM at the church prior to the service. Ruth Ann will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Brandonville Union Cemetery immediately following the service.
