Ruth J. Jeffrey, 86, of Danville, passed away on Monday January 4th, 2021 at Geisinger Medical Center. She was born in Aristes, PA on September 22nd, 1934, the daughter of John and Melissa (Lindemuth) Hoffman.

Ruth graduated from Conyngham-Centralia High School, where she was active in intramural basketball and choir.

She was married to her late husband Donald F. Jeffrey for 57 years, from 1954 until his passing in 2011.

In addition to raising four children, Ruth also worked outside the home at various places over the years, including Triangle Shoes where she met her future husband, Service Printery, The Collar & Cuff (a clothing store she and her husband owned with friends), and a local day care center where she thoroughly enjoyed her role helping young children.

Ruth's true love was spending time with and being around her family. She especially loved the tradition of dinner every Sunday afternoon with the entire family around the table, weekends at their summer cabin in Orangeville, and annual vacations to Rehoboth Beach. She enjoyed cooking, baking and playing all types of word games.

She is survived by her sister Vera Lucas of Danville, and two sons, Scott, married to Jen, of Redwood Falls, MN, and John, married to Kathy, of Palmyra, PA, as well as 10 grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her son, Donald M. Jeffrey (2006), her daughter Donna R. Keefer (2018), three brothers Vincent, Wayne and Clair, and two sisters, Jean and Fay.

Services will be private and held on a later day due to the COVID virus.
