Obituary
Robert Zimmerman, 82, of Wilmington, Del., formerly of Ringtown, passed away Tuesday in Wilmington.
Born in Ringtown, Sept. 29, 1932, he was a son of the late William E. and Blanche E. Dresher Zimmerman.
After high school, he served in the Army during the Korean conflict.
He was retired, having worked as a boilerman for the Brandywine School District and prior to that for the Electric Hose and Rubber Co., Delaware.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Thomas Zimmerman, in 2006; two brothers, Donald and William.
Robert is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Colantuono, Claymont, Del.; three sons, Robert Zimmerman, Bear, Del., Bruce Zimmerman and Brian Zimmerman, both of Wilmington; two sisters, Frances Zimmerman, North Wales, and Virginia Neiswender, Shenandoah; a brother, Thomas Zimmerman, Lansdale; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at noon Friday at the Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home, 412 W. Main St., Ringtown, with Pastor Jay Serafin officiating. A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home.
Robert will be laid to rest alongside his wife at St. John's Cemetery, Ringtown, immediately following the service.
