Peter F. Matino, 82, of Ringtown passed away on August 30th at St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital in Coaldale.

Born in Shenandoah on August 12th, 1935, he was the son of the late Nazaro and Carmella (Zavaglia) Matino.

He was a 1953 graduate of the former J. W. Cooper High School.

Pete was retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, where he was a highway inspector.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Dominick and Carmen, and sisters Nora and Antoinette.

Pete is survived by his wife Isabel (VonLeer) Matino whom he married on December 28th, 1957; his son Peter and wife Ann and their children Kayla and Jordan; daughter Carmella and her husband Philip Sih and their children Gregory, Nicholas and Andrew; daughter Elizabeth Gilinger and children Paul, Jeffery and Devon; sister-in-law Rosemary (VonLeer) Lebo and Catherine (Brophy) VonLeer.

Also surviving are brother John and his wife MaryAnn; sister Josephine Boyle and her husband Bernard; sister-in-law Celeste; brother-in-law Jack Hinke and various nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at 10:00AM on September 15th at Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home at 412 W. Main Street, Ringtown, and relatives and friends are invited to attend.
