Peter T. Lazusky, 87, of Brandonville, passed away peacefully Thursday morning at home.

Born in Frackville, June 16, 1926, he was a son of the late Peter and Antoinette Tulman Lazusky.

He was retired as a Platoon Sgt. from the Army, with more than 31 years of service both in active duty and the reserves. He served during both World War II and the Korean War.

Pete also worked as a telegraph operator for the former Reading Railroad. An electrician and carpenter by trade, Pete last worked as a civilian employee for the Fort Indiantown Gap Military Reserve Base, Annville, from which he retired.

He was a member of Brandonville Fire Company, Brandonville Fish and Game Club, and Sheppton American Legion.

A friendly and loving man, he enjoyed fishing, horseshoes and chess. He will truly be missed by many.

The last member of his immediate family, he was preceded in death by brothers, Walter, Serge and Joseph Lazusky; and by sisters, Josephine Butswinkas, Theresa Barnes, Mary Butswinkas and Adella Powell.

Peter was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Jean Lazusky, in 2007.

Surviving are daughters, Sally Lazusky and Jean Whatley; grandchildren, Daniel Lazusky Sr. and his wife, Joleen, Joshua Whatley and Justin Lazusky; a great-grandson, Daniel Lazusky Jr.; nieces and nephews.

Peter will be laid to rest at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, during private family services. Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home, Ringtown, assisted Peter's family during their time of need.
