Patricia "Patsy" Hughes, Ringtown, passed away Friday at her residence.
Patsy was born in Shenandoah, June 13, 1945, a daughter of the late Pearl Moyer and Martin Eugene Schell.
She was a 1963 graduate of the Ringtown High School and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Ringtown, where she was a member of the helping hands organization of the church.
Patsy enjoyed cooking, baking and working in her flower garden.
Patsy was a switchboard operator for the former Locust Mountain State Hospital in Shenandoah until its closing. She then retired from the local garment industry, having last worked at the Martin Shirt Co. in Shenandoah.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Schell, and recently by her husband, Bernard Hughes, on Dec. 28, 2015.
Patsy is survived by her son, Kevin Hughes, and his wife, Debra, Zion Grove; a brother, Gary Schell, Zion Grove; a granddaughter, Jennifer, wife of Jesse Yencho, Ringtown; her "little miss," great-granddaughter, Karleigh.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Ringtown, with Pastor Jay Serafin officiating. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home, 412 W. Main St., Ringtown, and again from 10 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the church. Patsy will be laid to rest at St. John's Cemetery, Ringtown, following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are asked to be made to "the fund of one's choice" at St. John's Lutheran Church, Ringtown.
