Obituary

Mildred Ann (Millie) Schell, 82, of State Road Zion Grove, passed away Saturday, May 13th, at her residence. .

She was born in Shenandoah, on October 17, 1934, a daughter of the late Freda and James  Mummey. She attended Ringtown Elementary School and the Beaver High School.

Millie was a lifetime member of the Beaver Fire Hall Ladies Auxilary and also served on the Beaver Township election board for over 50 years.  She was active with the Catawissa Senior Citizens Center, where she served as ambassador and enjoyed daily activities and many trips with the group.  Millie also enjoyed gardening, raising animals and country music.  She previously worked at the Wooling mill and Taylor's canning factory.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death in 2007 by her husband of 55 years, Albert Schell; and by a brother James Mummey, and a step grandchild, Heather.

Millie is  survived by a daughter, Cathy, wife of  William DeCosmo and by two sons, Barry, and his wife Debbie; and Thomas, and his wife Sharon.

She is also survived by a sister, Rita Bumbaugh and by three brothers, Albert Mummey, Dennis Mummey and Rick Mummey.

Also surviving are Six Grandchildren, Jamie Rupert and companion Jennifer (Emma, Lily, Legend, Lyric, Sage and Sunny), Stephanie, wife of Mike Hoffmaster (Erica, Korey, Skylar and stepchildren Megan and Mike), Pamela, wife of Wesley Morrow (Caius), Justin Schell and his wife Kristie (Trevor and Gannon), Megan, wife of Matt Frey (Taylor and Carson) and Jeffrey Schell and his wife Brandy (Kellan); 3 step grandchildren: Chrissy Fessler (Heather and Ricky), Alicia Sanders and Billy DeCosmo; and 1 great great grandchild and 3 step great great grandchildren, along with nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held at the Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home, 412 West Main Street, Ringtown, on Wednesday, May 17th, 2017 at 11 AM, with the Rev. Dr. Philip Smith officiating.

Relatives and Friends are invited to a viewing on Tuesday evening from 7-9 PM and again on Wednesday morning from 10-11 AM at the funeral home, prior to the service.

Millie will be laid to rest along side her husband at St. John's Cemetery, Ringtown, immediately following the service.
