Michael John Hughes, 65, passed unexpectedly on November 27th, 2024 at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, surrounded by his family. Michael was born June 10th, 1959 in Philadelphia, a son of the late Thomas and Catherine (Walsh) Hughes.  Michael was a hard working family man.  He worked hard to buy his first car before he turned 16 and continued that hard work his whole life, working 30 plus years in the trucking and automotive industry.  Michael was preceded in death by his wife Donna Hughes.  She was the joy of his life. Michael was an avid gardener, kept chickens, and had a great love for pets, he left behind his dog Max, his cat Jinx, and his bird Nicky. In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his wife Donna Hughes, his brother Mark Hughes, sister Marilyn Hughes, and his son Michael Hughes. He is survived by his children: Catherine (Ferd) Wise of Frankford DE; Betty Hughes of Scranton; Daniel (Christin) Hughes of Paxinos; Ann (Josh) Mease of Dupont; Michele Hughes of Lancaster; and Marilyn (Drew) Wagner of Lewisburg. He is also survived by grandchildren, Brandon, Stas, Joelle, Noel, Katie, Dylan, Cody, Justeen, Dalton, Skyla, Ava, Ashton, Ella, Kayla, Joshua, Mya, Mila, Alissa, Austin, Daniel, Dominick and Neela along with six great grandchildren.

Michael is also survived by his siblings, his sisters Mary Hughes, Theresa Hughes, Michele Demcher, and brother Thomas Hughes, along with nieces and nephews.

Michael will be laid to rest alongside his wife Donna at the Northumberland Memorial Park during private services.
