Marla Dawn Harrington, 25, of Ringtown, went to live with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, surrounded by her mother, Aleta Harrington, Mike Thomas and Dennis Zimmerman, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Marla was born in Crawfordsville, Ind., a daughter of Aleta Toney Harrington and Kent Harrington, husband of Wendy.
Marla was happiest when she was spending time with family and friends. She was an active member of her community and enjoyed working with her mother at Valley Beverage, Ringtown. She loved to travel, the outdoors and nature. She found peace hiking in the mountains. Marla was a writer with deep thoughts and beautiful expression. She loved to brighten someone else's day or help them, whether it was inviting them over for a meal, helping clothe them or to be a listening ear without judgment. Marla touch many lives in her short time here. If you had just met her or known her for a lifetime, she left an imprint on your heart.
Marla was blessed with a daughter, Sharon Harper Lee Harrington Zimmerman, and her responsibilities as a mother were the drive in her life.
She was preceded in death by grandfathers, Donald Toney and Lawrence Boggs; and great-grandparents, B.D. and Charlotte Hudson.
Surviving, in addition to her daughter and parents, are four sisters, Amanda, wife of Cory Wines, Brandi Farris, Kaiti Harrington and Kenli Harrington; and two brothers, Kyler Harrington and Blake Harrington, all of Indiana. She is also survived by her maternal grandmother, Janet Pickering; paternal grandparents, Max and Nancy Services; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Many surrogate mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters that have helped to shape her into the loving woman she was also survive and will miss her dearly.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home, 412 W. Main St., Ringtown. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
