Marie "Meem" Rumbel, 65, of West Arch Street, Ringtown, passed away Monday at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Marie was born in Shenandoah, Sept. 25, 1947, the only daughter of the late Marie Brunton and Ralph Walters.

She was a 1965 graduate of the Ringtown High School and was a member of Aurand Memorial United Methodist Church, Ringtown.

A lifelong homemaker, Marie especially enjoyed spending time with her grandsons, who were her ultimate joy and inspiration in life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Shawn, in 1973.

Marie is survived by her husband of 45 years, Robert C. Rumbel, Ringtown; a son, Robert B. Rumbel, Florida; a daughter, Michelle, wife of Sheldon Strunk, Shickshinny, and their sons, Blake and Chase; nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home, 412 W. Main St., Ringtown, with the Rev. Craig Zimmerman officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Marie's family from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday prior to the service. Interment will take place at a later date.
