Margaret Ann (Maggie) Getz, 71, a resident of Weston Place, Shenandoah, passed away peacefully on September 24th, 2026.

Maggie was born in Shenandoah on July 1, 1955, a daughter of the late Edward and Florence (Ptaszkowski) Tobin. She was a 1973 graduate of the Shenandoah High School, and then entered the military, serving her country and retiring from the United States Air Force/Air National Guard, during which time she served overseas during Iraqi Freedom. She also had worked for and was a retired employee of the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board.

A life member of the Walter H. Wardigo Amvets Post #7, she served two terms as Commander. Maggie was also a member of the Anthony P. Damato Legion, the Shenandoah Heights Fire Company and the Shenandoah Alumni Band. 

Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her children and grandchildren on vacation, especially at the beach.

In addition to her parents, Maggie was preceded in death by her grandmother, Alice Ptaszkowski; a sister, Alice Antonucci; and sons, Michael John Getz, Jr., and Jeremy George Colosimo.

She is survived by a daughter, Dr. Michelle Getz, and her husband Kim Leonarczyk of Panama City, FL; a son, Mark Getz and his wife Kelly of Weston Place; son, James Colosimo, Jr. and his wife Whitney of New Boston; and daughter Jamie Colosimo of St. Mary's GA. Ten Grandchildren, Kira, Aubrey and Dylan Getz; Kaydence Colosimo; Madison Leonarczyk; Saylor James Colosimo and Naia Rose, Gavin, Jasper and Sebastian Vorce.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Msgr. Ronald Bocian on Monday, October 12th at 10 AM at the Divine Mercy Parish, West Cherry Street, Shenandoah. Everyone is asked to please meet at the church promptly at 9:45 AM. Maggie will be laid to rest with military honors alongside her mother and sons at St. Casimir's Cemetery, Shenandoah, immediately following the mass.

Relatives and friends are also invited to a visitation and celebration of Maggie's life, which will be held from 2-4 PM on Sunday evening, October 11th at the Walukiewicz Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 South Jardin Street, Shenandoah. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Maggie are asked to be made to the American Cancer Society.
