Obituary
Leah Thompson, 95, a recent guest of Shenandoah Senior Living Community, Shenandoah, passed away Tuesday in Shenandoah.
Born Aug. 27, 1920, in Union Township, she was a daughter of the late Alice Laudig and Charles Hart.
She was a graduate of the former Ringtown High School and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Ringtown, where she was a member of the Dorcas group and active with many church functions.
She and her husband, Harry, worked together at their business, Thompson Service Station and Equipment, Ringtown, which was first an automobile service station, then a small engine repair shop and garden tractor sales business.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Harry Thompson, in 2004. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Grace Hart, Frank Hart, Allen Hart, Charles Hart, Willis Hart, Ada Manbeck, Sadie Webb, Neta Anderson and Edward Hart; two infant sisters, Evelyn and Viola.
Leah is survived by her son, Robert Thompson and his wife Dianne, Zion Grove; grandchildren, Debra Moroz, Robert Thompson Jr., Nathan Thompson and his wife, Heidi, and Andria, wife of Forrest Allmond; great-grandchildren, Ava and Temple Allmond; a sister, Mildred Stauffer, Zion Grove.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church, West Main Street, Ringtown, with Pastor Jay Serafin officiating. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home, 412 W. Main St., Ringtown, and again from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church prior to the service.
