Joseph P. Polega, 49, a resident of Wapwallopen, passed away at home unexpectedly on Sunday evening, June 16, 2024.

Joe was born in Hazleton, on November 17, 1974, the son of the late Peter Polega and Carol (Foose) Garrison of Bloomsburg.  He was a 1993 graduate of the Hazleton High School, and was currently employed as a mechanic for Mastertech Automotive in Berwick.

Joe was a life member of the Berwick VFW Auxillary and a member of the Sons of the American Legion in Mt. Top.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing when not working.

In addition to his mother Carol, Joe is survived by his wife of 25 years, Carrie Jabs, along with their children, Amber Lynn of Bloomsburg, PJ of Wapwallopen and Cody of Bloomsburg. Joe is also survived by his four dogs, who were like his best friends.

Joe will be laid to rest in the Russian Orthodox Cemetery, West Pine Street, Sheppton on Monday, June 24th, following graveside services which will be held at 11 AM.  Anyone wishing to attend the service is asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:45 AM.
