Joseph E. Kuzmitsky, Jr., 70, of Brandonville, passed away Tuesday, May 22nd, at his residence.
Joe was born in Brooklyn, NY on June 18, 1947, a son of Adelle (Stefancavage) Kuzmitsky, of Brooklyn, NY and the late Joseph Kuzmitsky.
He served as a Lance Corporal in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War.
Joe was retired, having last worked as a machinist at Truth Hardware in the Valmont Industrial Park. Joe enjoyed bad sci-fi movies and working around his house.
He was a member of the former Brandonville Fire Company; a member of the Marine Corps League, a member of the Military Order of the Devil Dogs and a lifetime member of the Sheppton American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, June (Fetterman) Kuzmitsky, and thier children, Tamara, and her fiancee Scott Eckert Cassarella, of Gilbert, AZ; Joseph Kuzmitsky III, and his wife Charlene, of Pottsville and Michael Kuzmitsky and his wife Pamela, of Pottsville.
He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Brittany Christiansen; James Cassarella III; Jenna Zaremba and by3 Great grandchildren, Adelyn and Fletcher Christiansen; James Cassarella IV, whom he all loved dearly.
Joseph is also survived by sisters, Alice Mae Espada, Linda Mostowicz, Carol Rivas, Harriet Scimeme, Veronica White, Beverly Chierchio, Eleanor Stever and Roseann Guliano.
A Funeral Service will be held at 12:30 PM on Wednesday, May 30th at the Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home, 412 West Main Street, Ringtown. Burial will full military honors will take place following the service at 2:30 PM at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
A viewing will be held from 6 PM to 8 PM on Tuesday, May 29th and again on Wednesday, May 30th from 11 AM to 12:30 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are asked to be made to Wounded Warrior Project PO Box 758517 Topeka, KS 66675-8517.
