Joseph E. Faust Jr., 62, of Ringtown, passed away Monday at his residence.

Born in Shenandoah, Dec. 3, 1951, he was a son of Lois Hinderliter Faust, Ringtown, and the late Joseph E. Faust Sr.

He was a 1969 graduate of North Schuylkill High School, then attended Penn State University, graduating in 1971.

Joe was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Ringtown.

He was an original and active member of the Ringtown Christmas Lighting Committee. He was involved with the Boy Scouts of America for more than 50 years, starting from involvement in the cub scouts up to being a scout master, a position that he still held. Over the span of years, he was the recipient of many awards and recognitions in scouting. He was a member of Ringtown Scout Committee serving as former secretary and treasurer of the organization.

Joe was last employed by Union Township Road supervisors and had previously worked as a foreman for the former Wenco Window Co., Ringtown, a position that he held for more than 30 years.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife of 39 years, Kay D. Adams Faust; two daughters, Laura Faust-Teter, Ringtown, and Elizabeth "Betsy" Faust, Allentown; son, Charles and his wife, Christina, Ringtown; two granddaughters, Ashley and Cassandra Teter, both of Ringtown; sister, Bonnie, wife of Daniel Myers, Lehighton; aunts and uncles; a niece and nephew; and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Ringtown, with Pastor Jay Serafin and the Rev. Craig Zimmerman officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home, 412 W. Main St., Ringtown, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church. Joe will be laid to rest in St. John's Cemetery, Ringtown, following the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, 106 W.
