George J. Horas, 74, of West Arch Street, Frackville, passed away Tuesday at his residence.
Born in Shenandoah, May 9, 1940, he was a son of the late George B. and Alice Stockunas Horas.
He was a 1957 graduate of Gilberton High School and attended Pottsville School of Business.
He was a member of Annunciation BVM Church, Frackville.
George was an Army veteran and was also a member of American Legion and Knights of Columbus, both of Frackville, and the Frackville Elks.
He was a retired computer analyst, having last been employed by NCR, Pottsville.
A loving and dedicated husband, father and pop, George treasured his family.
Surviving are his wife, Theresa Kosmisky Horas, with whom he celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 15; a son, George Horas and his wife, Yvonne, and their children, Noah and Oliva, Harleysville; a sister, Alice, wife of Albert Breznik, Ringtown; and a brother, Charles Horas, Pompano Beach, Fla.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Annunciation BVM Church, 7 S. Broad Mountain Ave., Frackville. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass at the church. George will be laid to rest in the parish cemetery immediately following Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Covenant Home Hospice, 1223 Pottsville Pike, Shoemakersville, PA 19555. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home, Ringtown.
