Donald P. Bernosky Sr., 81, of Ringtown, passed away Wednesday at his residence.
Born in Girardville, Aug. 3, 1933, he was a son of the late Peter and Helen Zoksuska Bernosky.
He served in the Marine Corps as a sergeant during the Korean War. After his enlistment, he served in the Reserves for eight additional years. He was a member of Girardville American Legion and was a life member of the VFW, Newville.
Don was a member of and worked as a heavy equipment mechanic and welder for the IUOE 542 for 45 years. He was also a 32nd degree member of the F&AM of Allentown.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Raymond and Leo Bernosky; sisters, Dorothy, Faye, Adrienne and Marie; and stepson, D. Chris Davis.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Edna Davis Bernosky. Donald is also survived by three sons, Donald Jr. and his wife, Betty Ann, Girardville, Michael, Virginia, and John and his wife, Mary Kay, Wyomissing; four daughters, Dorothy Ann, wife of Bill Linkchorst, Frackville, Melissa Dawn Bernosky and Kelly Davis, both at home, and Kate, wife of Chuck Bardo, Ringtown; a sister, Yvonne Malson, California; a brother, John Bernosky and his wife, Alice, Freeland; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Donald will be laid to rest in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, at a later date. Don's family requests donations in his memory be made to Hillside SPCA, Pottsville, Wounded Warrior Foundation or the Ringtown Library. Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home, Ringtown, is assisting Donald's family during their time of need.
