Dean Kancir, 50, of Hazle Township, passed away Friday, July 31st, 2020 at his residence.
He was born in Hazleton, on June 22, 1970, a son of the late Marie (Petock) Kancir and Adrian E. Kancir.
Dean had a great love for the outdoors. He was a very talented landscaper, owning and operating his own landscaping business. He was also very knowledgeable about mechanics and automobiles.
He was a comical man who loved to joke around and make people laugh.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, the former Chrissy Hoilko, and by his son, Andy. A brother Adrian Kancir, and his wife Dawn of Freeland and brother in-law John Hoilko, and his wife Nikki of Weatherly also survive as do aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, along with many friends he considered family.
Dean also enjoyed his pets and he leaves behind two umbrella cockatoos, Zack and Mickey; a sengril, Malibu; a sunset conyard, Baby and his dog Bentley.
A celebration of Dean's life will be held on Thursday August 20th from 5-8 pm at the Stage Area of the Hazle Township Community Park. The Rev. Jane Hess will conduct a memorial service at 6:30 pm followed by a potluck dinner. Anyone wishing to bring food or refreshments to share would be greatly appreciated.
