Barry L. Ford Sr., 63, of East Lloyd Street, Shenandoah, passed away Wednesday at Schuylkill Medical Center-East Norwegian Street.
Born in Shamokin, Sept. 11, 1951, he was a son of the late Luther and Betty Stroehecker Ford.
Barry was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ Church, Shenandoah.
He was last employed as a maintenance mechanic at Mrs. T's Pierogies, Shenandoah. Prior to that, he worked in the maintenance department of the former A&E Hanger plant, Ringtown.
Barry was a man who enjoyed his family. He liked to work with his hands, and spent time doing crafts. He was also willing to help out anyone who asked.
Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Donna Schuetrum Ford; a son, Barry Jr., Frackville; a daughter, Audra, wife of John Kanute, Ringtown; a sister, Nancy Weise, Elysburg; a brother, Larry Ford, North Carolina; two grandchildren, Kevin and Conner Kanute; a future daughter- in-law, Jen Wise, Shenandoah; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home, 412 W. Main St., Ringtown, with the Rev. Craig Zimmerman officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Barry will be laid to rest in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights, following the service.
