Albert 'AJ' Zimmerman, Jr., 22, passed away unexpectedly at home in Mt. Carmel on May 26, 2023.

AJ was born in Pottsville on September 3, 2000, son of Dawn Herring and Albert Zimmerman, Sr.

He attended the Tri-Valley School, and was currently a stay home dad, who enjoyed spending time with his son, Lex, who he adored dearly.  He also enjoyed listening to music.

AJ was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Robert McAndrew, Sr.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his son, Lex, and was expecting the arrival of a daughter, Iris, this summer.

He is also survived by sisters, Tammra Huben and Desitini Schannauer, and a brother, Gavin Schannauer.

His maternal grandmother, Christine Hummel survives, as does his paternal grandparents, Gene Zimmerman and Bernadette Kalenkoski, along with nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Sunday evening at 7 PM at the Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home, 412 West Main Street, Ringtown.  Visitation with AJ's family will be from 5 PM until the time of the service.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, monetary memorial donations will be accepted at the Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home, to establish a trust for the future care of his children.
