Salvadore 'Sal' "Eddie" Pellegrino, 70, of Shenandoah, lost a courageous battle with cancer on  Thursday, September 7th, 2017.

Sal was born in Girardville, on February 12, 1947, a son of the late Sandy Olivetto and Natale  Pellegino.

He was a 1964 graduate of the former JW Cooper High School, and then enlisted in the US Army, serving his country during the Vietnam War.

For over 32 years he worked for and retired from Ateeco, Inc, and was a member of The Divine Mercy Parish and former St. George's Church in Shenandoah.

He enjoyed fishing, gardening and going to the casinos.  Most of all, he loved spending time with the love of his life, his granddaughter Gianna.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Russell and Jimmy; sisters Eleanor Testen and Jean Kutsko, and his nephew, Jonathan "Feet" Palubinsky.

The last member of his immediate family, he is survived by his ex-wife, caregiver and best friend of 35 years, JoAnn Pellegrino; his daughter, Christa, wife of Thomas Antolick, and the apple of his eye, his granddaughter, Gianna.

He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Ann Marie (Ethel) Palubinsky, sisters in law, Harriet Pellegrino and Josie Markiewicz (Joe Shoup); brothers in law, Joseph Palubinsky (Joanie) and Jeffery Palubinsky (Carolyn), his good friend, Glenn Toth, nieces and nephews, and his 4 legged best friend Mario.

Relatives and Friends are invited to a viewing on Wednesday September 13th, from 10:30 AM until 12:30 PM at the Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home, 412 West Main Street, Ringtown, during which Msgr. Ronald Bocian will conduct a Scripture Service at 11:30 AM.

Sal will be laid to rest following military honors will at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, at 2 PM Wednesday afternoon.
