Edward P. Baskeyfield, 89, Ringtown, began his heavenly journey on March 31, 2017.

Ed was born in Shenandoah, on November 11, 1927, a son of the late Helen (Savakinas) and John P. Baskeyfield.

After graduating from the JW Cooper High School in 1945, he entered the US Army, serving during both WWII and the Korean Conflict.  He was a member of former First Welsh Baptist Church, Shenandoah, where he served as a Deacon and trustee.

Ed worked as a banker for his entire career, retiring in 1992 as the  President of the Merchants National Bank in Shenandoah.  He was widely respected both locally and throughout Pennsylvania in the banking sector.

He enjoyed going to bear camp in Sullivan county and hunting with friends. He loved being outdoors, gardening, walking and traveling, and had a passion for a good cigar.  He enjoyed reading, and was a dedicated supporter of the Ringtown Library.

A former member of the Ringtown Municipal Authority , he was also a 32 degree Mason and member of the F&AM Lodge 737, and the Bloomsburg Consistory, a past Grand Master of the Shenandoah IOOF, Lodge #591, and the Ringtown Rotary Club.
 
Last member of his immediate family, he was preceded in death by a brother John and a sister Helene Salada.

Celebrating 64 wonderful years of marriage, he is survived by his wife  Nadia  (Adamyck) Baskeyfield.  Edward is  also survived by a daughter, Beth, wife of  Richard Roulin, of Ringtown;  and a son, Mark  Baskeyfield, and his wife Amani, of Maryland.  He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Shari Roulin;  Hallie, wife of Jason Corby; Matthew Roulin and his wife Kim and by 4 great grandchildren, Ryane and Claire Corby, and Daniel and Robert Roulin. along with nieces and nephews.

In accordance with Ed's wishes, Private Family Funeral Services will take place followed by interment at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Ed's Memory are asked to be made to the Ringtown Library, Main Street, Ringtown, PA  17967.
