JOY C. BACHMAN
Joy C. Bachman, 61, a former resident of Beersville, currently living with her longtime companion, Roy Rupert in Zion Grove since 1997, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Monday, August 4th, 2008 at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.
Born in Treichlers, PA on June 24, 1947, the daughter of the late John O. and Rachel (Weaver) Rice.
She worked as a bus driver in the Beersville area for over 15 years.
She enjoyed birdwatching and was an avid gardener.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Kuntz.
Joy is survived by two daughters, Janet, and her husband Greg Snyder of Walnutport, and Jill Leiby and her fiancee, Gerry Hoskins of Walnutport. One son, James Bachman, and his wife, Linda of Breiningsville.
Joy is also survived by two sisters, Shirley Newhard of Tennessee and May Longenbach of Whitehall along with three brothers, George Rice of Jim Thorpe, John Rice, Jr. of Northampton, and Rick Rice, Lansford. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Austin, Michael, Samantha, Brandon, Dylan, Azelia, Rachel. A Funeral Service will be held at at Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home, Ringtown, PA, at 1 PM on Thursday, August 7th, 2008. Relatives and friends may call from 12 Noon until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Interment will be at the convenience of the family at a later date.
Joy's family asks that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
