
Joseph E. 'Chubby' Mensinger, 78, of 58 Wood Street, Ringtown, went to be with the Lord peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, July 16th at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
Born in Ringtown on November 22, 1929, he was the son of the late Conrad and Anna (Markunis) Mensinger.
A graduate of the Ringtown High School, he excelled as a pitcher playing with various ball teams and was inducted into the Schuylkill County Hall of Fame.
He retired from the former Mr. Hanger factory in Ringtown after having worked there for 32 years.
A longtime member of the Ringtown Borough Council, 'Chubby' served as treasurer of the borough for 22 years.
A life long member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Ringtown, he was also an active member in the Ringtown Valley Sporting Club and the Shenandoah Fish and Game Club. He was also involved with the Ringtown and Shenandoah Senior Citizens.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents, was his sister Mary Loveland.
Surviving is his wife of 58 years, Olga (Pitsko) Mensinger of Ringtown, along with two sons: Gregory and his companion, Roseann of Ringtown, and Mark, and his wife, Denise of Sheppton. Four grandchildren, Jeffery, Lisa, Mark Jr., and Brian survive, and do three great grandchildren- Rylee, Regan and Leah. He is also survived by his sister in-law, Queli Pitsko and her family. Cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, July 21st at 11 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church, West Main Street, Ringtown. Relatives and Friends are invited to call on Monday morning from 9-11 AM at the church prior to the service. Interment will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, immediately following the service.
In Lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be made to St. John's Lutheran Church in Ringtown.
