EARL E. RARICK

Earl E. Rarick, 83, of Ferndale Road, Zion Grove, passed away peacefully in his sleep surrounded by his family on Monday morning.

Earl was born in Zion Grove, PA on September 8, 1926, the son of the late Edwin C.and Cora M. (Singley) Rarick.

Earl attending the Ringtown High School, then worked in the local mining industry. Upon marrying his wife Elsie, they lived in the Chester County, PA area where he was a partner with the Caln Building Stone Corporation. He became president of the Caln Building Stone Corporation and returned to his family homestead in Zion Grove as he continued quarrying building stone.

Earl had a great love and appreciation of nature and enjoyed outdoor activities. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, Chelsea and Cassandra Mandell and William and Michael Rorke.

Earl was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 5 brothers, Grace Getz, Marie Rarick, Emory, Frank, Paul, Samuel and Sterling Rarick.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Elsie (Dragan) Rarick or Zion Grove along with two daughters, Jean, wife of Robert Rorke of Ann Arbor, Michigan and Dr. Wanda Mandell of Bloomsburg. Earl is also survived by four sisters, Alma Gearhart of Ringtown, Elizabeth Neal of Connecticut, Mabel Rarick of Florida and Olive Hill of Hawaii. Many nieces and nephews also survive. A Funeral Service will be held at the Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home, 412 West Main Street, Ringtown, at 11 AM on Thursday, March 4th. Burial will take place at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Zion Grove following the service.

Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing Wednesday evening from 5-8 PM and again on Thursday morning from 10-11 AM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, PO Box 61, Zion Grove, PA 17985; the American Cancer Society or the Diakon Hospice St.John, 1201B North Church St., Hazle Township, PA 18202.
