Robert D. 'Bobo' Makara, 64, of  Zion Grove, passed away Friday, December 8th, 2017 at his residence.

Born in Hazleton, on February 5, 1953, he was a son of the late Lucille B. (Lindenmuth) and Thomas M. Makara, Sr.

A 1971 graduate of the West Hazleton High School.  He was retired, having been employed by  Fabri-Kal in West Hazleton, then retiring from ADM in Hazle Township.

In his younger years, he enjoyed playing fingers, horseshoes and darts .  He loved classic rock music and playing the game "Who sings this?", to which his wife Nellie always lost, always answering the "Rolling Stones".

During his recent retirement, he spent his days caring for his brother in-law, George "Tut" Colosimo.  Robert was an Raiders, Dodgers and Louisville Cardinals fan.   

He is survived by his wife of 38 years,  Nellie J. (Colosimo) Makara.

Robert is  also survived by two daughters, Gloria, wife of  Rick Schlauch, of Ringtown; Danielle, wife of  Brandon Gebhart, of Zion Grove; and a son,Dustin Makara, of Zion Grove.  Two brothers, Thomas Makara, Jr., of Rock Glen and Bradley Makara, of California, also survive.
 
He is survived by six grandchildren, Dexter J. Schlauch; Briana J. Schlauch; Owen T. Makara; Benjamin H. Makara; Chloe M. Gebhart; Layla Q. Gebhart.  Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Relatives and friends are invited to a funeral service which will be held on Tuesday evening, December 12th, at 8 PM at the Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home, 412 West Main Street, Ringtown.  A viewing will be held from 6- 8 PM prior to the service, and casual attire is requested.
