Marion M. Gearhart

Marion M. Gearhart, 94, of Ringtown, a guest at Providence Place in Pottsville for the past year, passed away Saturday.

Born in Ringtown, April 15, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Mabel Patterson and Harry Hinderliter.

She worked as an administrative assistant for the United States Tax Court in Washington, D.C., for 32 years until her retirement.

Marion was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. She enjoyed traveling, and was a talented decorator and artist who enjoyed painting.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Gearhart, in 1996, and two sisters, Norma Moyer and Alva Cohen.

Marion is survived by a sister, Janet Dennison, Zion Grove; nieces and nephews, including Joan Mensinger and Linda Lucas, who were her caregivers, both of Zion Grove; sister in-law, Betty Gearhart, Quakertown.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at 10 a.m. Thursday at Aurand Memorial United Methodist Church, 217 W. Main St., Ringtown. A viewing will be held from 8:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Marion will be laid to rest at St. John's Cemetery, Ringtown, following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Aurand United Memorial Church, Ringtown, PA 17967. Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home, Ringtown, is assisting Marion's family during their time of need.
