Margaret "Peggy" Davidow

Margaret “Peggy” Davidow  of Ringtown,  passed away peacefully on September 13, 2016, at home, surrounded by friends and family.

Born in Newark, NJ, on March 13, 1948, Peggy was the daughter of the late Joseph and Ethel Brennan. She was the youngest of four children; preceded in death  by her brother Richard Gumpert and survived by two sisters Donna Villano and Carol Ann Gumpert.  

She attended Sacred Heart School in Dover and graduated from Dover High School in 1966

.Peggy married Joseph Davidow in 1971, and raised their family in Hopatcong, NJ.  She was employed as an administrative assistant for various companies in Morris County area.  Peggy was a volunteer for the Hopatcong Fire Department Lady Auxiliary.  Fifteen years ago, she moved to Ringtown, PA and retired.  

Peggy was known for her ease in frequent conversation with even total strangers.  Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many. Her signature gift of joy, shown through her constant smiling, laughter, and joking around, will never be forgotten.  Above all, Peggy loved being a mother.  She was a devoted wife, grandmother and great-grandmother.  Her doting daughters and caring son were a constant source of pride, concern and delight to her and they loved her dearly.  

Peggy was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting, sewing Halloween costumes for her children and grandchildren, gardening, and baking.  She also enjoyed vacations to Cape Cod, MA, yearly trips to Highpoint, NJ, and activities with her cherished grandchildren.

She is survived by, her loving husband Joseph, with whom she would have celebrated 45 years of marriage; her children and their families – Catherine Duncan, her husband Paul Duncan and granddaughters Sharon Duncan and Margaret Duncan of Ringtown, PA; Sharon Kafka of Mahanoy City, PA and grandchildren Joshua Kafka and Nicole Kafka; Heather Davidow, her companion Daniel Giuliano, and granddaughter Jillian Davidow of Ringtown, PA; Joseph Davidow, his fiancée Tara Gundersen, and grandchildren Joseph Davidow, Jr., Madison Davidow, Elijah Davidow, and Alexa Davidow of Hopatcong, NJ;  Peggy is also survived by one great-grandson and many nieces and nephews.

Interment services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
