Charlotte M. Siswein
August 11, 1923 ~ September 19, 2016 (age 93) 93 Years OldCharlotte Mae Siswein, 93, a former resident of Ringtown, passed away Monday evening at the Shenandoah Senior Living Community, where she was currently a guest.
Charlotte was born in Shenandoah, on August 11, 1923, a daughter of the late Doris (Whitehouse) and James F. Thompson.
She was a member of Aurand Memorial United Methodist Church in Ringtown where he was a member of the Pollyanna Club and the church chorus.
She worked as a LPN for the Rest Haven Nursing Home, later working as a home health aide. She also worked at the former, Ringtown Dress Factory, as well as being a famer's wife owning Sunny Hills Farm and Market in Ringtown.
Charlotte was well known for her singing and was a member of the Schuylkill County Chorus.
She was past president of the Ringtown Senior Citizens and was a former hostess of White Star Bus Tours. An avid quilter, crocheter, reader and pinnochel player, she was also well known for her baking.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her husbands, Franklin Hart and William Siswein; two brothers, Franklin Joseph Thompson and Harry Thompson; and a sister Maude Ellen.
Charlotte is survived by her eight children: Sharon, wife of Earl Zimmerman, of Ringtown; Ellen, wife of Thomas Clark, of California; Doris J., wife of Robert Fritz, of Ringtown; Katie (Hart) Isgate, of Ringtown; James Hart, and his wife Sandra, of Coopersburg; David Scott Hart and his wife Cheryl, of Florida; Dane (Skip) Hart, and his wife of Cyria, of Shenandoah; Carl Hart, and his wife Midge, of West Virginia.
Charlotte is also survived by a sister, Lois Hamm, of Virginia and by 20 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and one great great grandson.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home, 412 West Main Street Ringtown, at 12 Noon on Saturday, September 24th, with Pastor Susan Wollyung officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing from 10 AM until the time of the service Saturday morning.
Private burial services will take place in St. John's Cemetery Ringtown, at a later date.
